Geo-Logistics

Geo-Logistics is an application for cargo delivery and logistics management. It allows for increase in effectiveness of management of these processes by use of modern Geo-Informational technologies.

Sample use scenario

A manager receives a cargo delivery request from a client, which states:

  • Which cargo to deliver
  • It's quantity
  • Cargo origination and delivery points
  • Limitations for maximum time and cost

Based on this data manager uses Geo-Logistics to prepare few alternative routs, which may differ by price, time and other factors. While preparing these routs Geo-Logistics takes in account such additional information as time to load/unload, warehousing, custom clearance and so on. Given these alternative routs manager selects the most appropriate and begins execution of the delivery order.

Geo-Logistics allows:

  • Creation and editing of all types of information in relation to transportation chain and correlation of this information with geographical data. Collection and update of data is done through external data feeds as well as through internal information structure of the transportation company using Geo-Logistics.
  • Generation of reference information in graphical and numeric form about the participants of the transportation chain and channels of transportation.
  • Selection of a chain of transportation based on information about participants and presentation of this chain in a graphical form on the map.

Informational component of Geo-Logistics stores the following data:

  • Channels of transportation and all the information relevant to their participants
  • Regions of involvement of cargo-delivery companies
  • Third party information, such as insurance companies, clients, delivery brokers etc.
