It is common to have some means of geographical information storage and processing in the modern corporate information systems. It is becoming more popular to integrate GIS systems into such systems.
Traditional GIS applications are oriented at solving specific tasks. Using them as a part of a corporate information system is usually inefficient. Our new technologies help create GIS applications, which can be embedded in corporate information systems. In such applications geographical information is tied to some textual data from corporate databases. Tech Data Solutions has solid experience applying this approach in a number of large projects, such as a business management system for Nestle S. A.
Our technologies:
- Enhance the capabilities of the corporate information systems, via embedding graphical and GIS applications in such systems
- Eliminate the need to convert data from the corporate information systems into specific GIS databases
- Simplify administration and provide capabilities for real time data processing
Specialized GIS applications allow for geographical data analysis and processing. They provide:
- Graphical data visualization (maps/building floor plans)
- Data analysis and processing taking in account space limitations
- Preparation of reports, containing map/floor plans elements
Here is an example of an application that joins alpha-numeric and graphical data (e.g., from Microsoft Access), allowing to prepare reports with maps. The maps will have different regions shown in different colors according to the amounts of sales made in those regions.

This application consists of the following modules:
- Map Control Module (select part of a map/floor plan, zoom, move)
- Map Setup Module (show/hide layer, specify layer description)
- Map Editor (create, move, delete object)
- Print Module (print part of a map/floor plan)
