Main functionality of City-Delivery 2.6+
City-Delivery 2.6+ is a tool for a manager of dispatcher that plans deliveries of products to clients. The goal of City-Delivery 2.6+ is to automate most of the process of planning of delivery and generation of all the necessary documentation.
Seed Information
- All the delivery orders for the day. A delivery order includes a unique identifier, name and address of the client (delivery point), the quantity of the goods to be delivered and desired time of delivery
- List of available vehicles that will be used for delivery. For each type of the vehicle the following information is needed:
- Maximum load
- Limitations on the number of delivery points that can be visited during the day
- Maximum allowed mileage for the day
- Maximum allowed time of one delivery run
Delivery algorithm of City-Delivery 2.6+ works in the following manner:
- Automatically places delivery points on the map
- In the most effective way selects the deliveries for each given delivery run, maximizing load of each type of vehicle and minimizing the total mileage of all deliveries. The following are the criteria used to determine delivery planning:
- Limitations on maximum mileage in one delivery run, maximum number of delivery points visited in one delivery run and maximum allowed time for one delivery run.
- The time for each delivery run is calculated based on the mileage, average speed and time necessary to unload the products at the point of delivery
- The time the client expects the products to be delivered
- It is assumed that all the products are being delivered from the same warehouse
Results of delivery planning by City-Delivery 2.6+
The result of deliveries planning with City-Delivery 2.6+ is a list of delivery runs and routs for a given day with a sequence of delivery points where the following information is reflected for each delivery run:
- Date of a given delivery
- ID of the delivery run/route
- Ids, names of clients and addresses of delivery points on the route in the order of their visitation
- Type of the vehicle, it's license plate number and name of the driver
- Planned delivery time for each delivery point on the route
- Total time spent for given delivery run
- Planned mileage for the delivery run (including the mileage to return back to warehouse)
- Total load for this delivery run
