The Objective

The primary goal of QwikMap for Real Estate Professionals was to combine cartographic and informational services rendering into a single fast and easy-to-use system surpassing today's analogues in speed and quality

The Solution

After careful analysis of project's goals, Tech Data Solutions Inc. has come up with the solution that would best fit requirements of the project. Software architecture played an important role in the project's success and its future extensibility. When the plan for technical development was completed, a group of skilled developers has developed this application and the test team helped ensure rock-solid quality of the product.

The Result

As a result of several months of work, Tech Data Solutions has produced an easy-to-use system with an exclusive geographic engine, which allows fast data communications between servers and clients. At present, QwikMap enlists over 30 geographically interesting map layers that are hard to find in most of contemporary mapping systems.

Interactivity

The map client developed by Tech Data Solutions has no good competitors in the world today. The QwikMap Viewer's navigation abilities allow browsing of the entire state of Hawaii without having to refresh the whole page. QwikMap is equipped with the smart-update feature that allows loading of data once and using it through the entire map session. QwikMap makes it simple to pan from Niihau over to Hawaii islands in a matter of seconds.

The Process

Despite of the project's extreme complexity, Tech Data Solutions has managed it out and executed in a timely manner. Production of large projects requires great management and analytical capabilities, which TDS has successfully leveraged on this project There were several obstacles during the development of QwikMaps: unforeseen problems with server performance, constantly growing list of change requests, problems with the open software platform. By using the iterative development model many of project risks have been identified early, enough time was allocated to accommodate new feature requests, which resulted in a quality and timely release of the product.

Smart Updates Feature

Existing map systems require the user to constantly reload the map, even when data updates are insignificant.

Tech Data Solutions introduced a new approach to this issue. QwikMap viewer allows downloading of items and re-using them: the system never has to reload the same piece of data again, which has a great positive impact on the end user experience.

Management and Quality Assurance

TDS has successfully managed the development process so that the complete product could be delivered to the customer on time; moreover, the project has been thoroughly tested by a group of experienced test engineers in order to ensure that it conforms to the TDS’ high quality standards.

Reduced expenses
